Dual-Mode Streaming Platform
Live and on-demand video are delivered through one platform, with real-time engagement available during events and reliable replay access afterward.
We built a unified medical event platform that brings live and on-demand streaming, configurable registration, role management, real-time Q&A and polling, and CMS controls into one system. The platform enabled non-technical teams to manage events without developer support, making setup 69% faster while increasing replay usage by 74% and event engagement by 82%.
A UK-based healthcare organization was running educational medical events using a combination of video tools, registration forms, a separate CMS, and manual role management. With 50+ global events annually and up to 2,500+ concurrent attendees, the existing setup created operational and technical bottlenecks.
Ciphernutz built a unified live and on-demand medical event streaming platform with configurable registration, speaker and moderator roles, dual-provider video streaming, real-time Q&A and polling, and a Wagtail CMS that allowed non-technical teams to manage events without relying on developers.
"How long did it take your team to set up an event before, and who had to be involved?"
Before, setting up a single event was a two-week bottleneck. We had to file tickets just to change a speaker's bio or update a registration form because everything required a developer. Our organizers were completely dependent on engineering. Now, the non-technical team handles the entire setup through the CMS in a few hours, and our developers are finally free to build features instead of doing data entry.
Medical education events require more than a standard webinar platform. Healthcare professionals are often unable to attend live, event roles require precise permissions, registration varies by event, and real-time interaction needs moderation.
Medical events involve speakers, moderators, attendees, and administrators, each with different permissions and interfaces. The platform needed flexible role management and controlled access for professional audiences.
Different medical events required different registration fields, approval workflows, and eligibility rules. Organizers needed the ability to configure these flows without developer involvement.
Schedules, speaker information, documents, and event content often required developer support. Last-minute event changes became support tickets, slowing down event preparation.
Q&A, polling, and discussion features needed real-time moderation so clinical questions and participant interactions could be managed appropriately during live educational sessions.
We engineered a unified medical event platform that treats live and on-demand experiences equally while giving healthcare organizers control over event configuration and content.
Live and on-demand video are delivered through one platform, with real-time engagement available during events and reliable replay access afterward.
Configurable registration flows and administrator-assigned roles support speakers, moderators, attendees, and event-specific eligibility and approval requirements.
Vimeo and Wowza were integrated behind a unified Django and NestJS backend with adaptive bitrate delivery, providing a flexible video architecture for live and on-demand experiences.
Socket-based Q&A panels, polls, and discussion boards enable real-time participation, with moderation tools that allow moderators to manage questions during live sessions.
Non-technical organizers can manage schedules, documents, session data, registration, and event content themselves, removing routine setup work from the developer queue.
Docker, AWS S3, Redis, and Datadog support deployment, storage, performance, queueing, and real-time monitoring so issues during live events can be identified quickly.
Event setup became 69% faster after routine configuration work moved from developers to non-technical organizers. Replay usage increased by 74%, while event engagement rose 82% through real-time Q&A and polling. The platform unified live and on-demand streaming, registration, role management, interaction, and monitoring in one system.
